Microbiology Laboratory (Z-54)
In the Microbiology Laboratory, biochemical tests are used to identify microorganisms causing diseases in various fish species and shellfish, as well as serological methods for detecting antigens or antibodies belonging to the microorganism and antibiogram tests to select the appropriate antibiotic for elimination and treatment. Disease agents are studied as separate scientific disciplines such as Bacteriology, Mycology, and Parasitology, and microscopic examinations, cultures, serological and biochemical analyses are used in diagnosis.
