Our faculty was established on July 20, 1982, as part of the Isparta Faculty of Engineering at Akdeniz University. On January 5, 1985, it was relocated from Isparta Province to Eğirdir District under the name Eğirdir Fisheries Vocational School. On June 18, 1987, it was directly affiliated with Akdeniz University. Later, on July 13, 1992, with Law No. 3837, the name and affiliation of the vocational school were changed, and it was incorporated into Süleyman Demirel University, which was established in Isparta Province, under the name Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries. In 2018, it became part of Isparta University of Applied Sciences and has continued its educational activities under this institution.
After completing an eight-semester (four-year) undergraduate program, our students graduate as "Fisheries Engineer." In addition to the Fisheries Engineering undergraduate program, postgraduate (master’s and doctoral) education has been offered since 1985.
Our faculty consists of three departments. The Department of Basic Sciences in Fisheries has three subfields, while the Department of Aquaculture and the Department of Fisheries Capture and Processing Technology each have two subfields. The academic staff includes 16 professors, 6 associate professors, 6 assistant professors, 6 research assistants, and 1 lecturer, totaling 35 personnel.
