The Department of Fisheries Capture and Processing Technology consists of two divisions: Fisheries Capture Technology and Fisheries Processing Technology. The department has a processing laboratory equipped with various devices and equipment related to fish processing.

In the Capture Technology division, practical courses such as Fishing Gear and Fishing Techniques and Net Material and Net Construction Techniques provide students with essential knowledge about the main materials, technical designs, structural properties, and functions of fishing gear used in marine and freshwater fisheries. Additionally, courses like Fishing Vessel Equipment, Navigation and Ship Operations, Maritime Law, and Engine Knowledge offer both theoretical and practical training for students who plan to become crew members and manage fishing vessels.

The Fisheries Processing Technology division focuses on the sensory, physical, chemical, microbiological, and quality control analyses of seafood in the Fisheries Processing Technology course. Research is also conducted in these areas. The division provides education on cold storage, salting, smoking, shellfish processing, seaweed utilization, hygiene and sanitation in fish processing, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards.

The department is staffed by 4 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, 1 research assistant with a PhD, and 1 research assistant.
