The 5th Fish and Bread Festival, jointly organized by Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries, and the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, was successfully held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with a high level of participation.

The festival began at 12:30 PM in the area next to the Faculty of Forestry at the East Campus, offering enjoyable moments accompanied by music. Students both relieved stress and had a great time with rhythmic music and a festive atmosphere.

As part of the event, approximately 5,000 portions of fish sandwiches and halva were served to the participants. The festival was attended by ISUBÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayhan Gösterit, Deputy Mayor Musa Macit, protocol members, academics, university staff, and a large number of students.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to the officials of the Isparta Inland Fisheries Association and Şanlanlar Food Company for their support in the supply of fish.

The university administration stated that such social and cultural events strengthen the integration between students and academics and enrich campus life, expressing gratitude to all supporting institutions and individuals.

Prof. Dr. Şengül Bilgin, Dean of the ISUBÜ Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries, noted that fish is a vital and healthy food source that should be consumed at least once a week. Furthermore, she emphasized that such events raise awareness to increase fish consumption and thanked all participants.
