Students of Isparta University of Applied Sciences (ISUBÜ), Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries, organized a comprehensive cleaning event at Lake Eğirdir on April 29, 2026. As part of the event, abandoned ghost fishing gear (nets, traps, fishing lines) and various wastes accumulated in the coastal areas—where water has receded due to drought—were collected by the students.

The cleaning activity was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yıldız Bolat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Habil Uğur Koca, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet CİLBİZ. Under the guidance of their professors, students took a significant step toward saving Lake Eğirdir from "hidden burdens" that threaten the lake's ecosystem by turning their theoretical knowledge into practical application. Through this meaningful work, students demonstrated their active role in the conservation of natural resources and sustainable water management. The event also drew attention to leaving a cleaner and healthier Lake Eğirdir for future generations.

The cleaning event organized by the ISUBÜ Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries was evaluated as an exemplary action for developing environmental awareness and protecting the ecological balance of the lake.
