An article about the new species has been published in the journal "Zoology in the Middle East" (Germany).
The new carp species, identified by the research team, has been named "Chondrostoma turnai" in memory of Dr. İbrahim İsmail TURNA, a faculty member of our faculty. The genus, which is distributed in the middle and lower basin of the Büyük Menderes River, has 14 species in our country's inland waters, including the described species.
