The World Women Studies Conference – IX was held at Baku Girls' University from March 6-8, 2026. The opening ceremony included speeches by the Rector of Baku Girls' University, Prof. Dr. Sevinç Aliyeva; Congress Organizing Committee Member and IKSAD Senate Member Prof. Dr. Arzu Al; IKSAD President Dr. Mustafa Latif Emek; and invited speaker, lawyer Ayyüce Erva Yalçın. The opening program also included an exhibition and traditional Azerbaijani dance performances.
The conference featured contributions from over a thousand authors from 25 countries, with a total of 315 presentations. Sessions throughout the conference addressed scientific studies in women's studies and related disciplines; fruitful discussions fostering academic knowledge sharing and international cooperation took place.
Our faculty was represented at the conference by Prof. Dr. Şengül Bilgin, Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Kubilay, and Dr. Öğr. Member Göknur Sürengil participated with her studies on "The Role of Women Workers in Aquaculture" and "The Importance of Seafood Consumption in Women's Nutrition".
