Hosted by Isparta University of Applied Sciences, a panel discussion was held with intense participation as part of the "2024 World Water Day," organized by the Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries and the Fisheries Research Institute.

The program began following a moment of silence and the national anthem. Delivering the opening speech, the Deputy Governor of Isparta, Mr. Hasan Hüseyin Vural, pointed out that water is an indispensable source of life. He stated that water resources are under serious pressure due to climate change, population growth, and unconscious consumption. Vural emphasized that protecting water is of vital importance for future generations.

Speaking at the panel, the Director of the Eğirdir Fisheries Research Center, Dr. Oğuz Yaşar Uzunmehmetoğlu, stated that access to water is a fundamental right and expressed that the protection and conscious use of water have become mandatory against increasing threats.

Prof. Dr. Şengül BİLGİN, Dean of the Eğirdir Faculty of Fisheries, stated that water is not just a natural resource but is of critical importance for food, the economy, and ecosystems, adding that water conservation is no longer a choice but a necessity.

A music recital held as part of the program added aesthetic richness to the event and provided enjoyable moments for the participants.

Following the recital, Mr. Hasan Acar, Deputy Director of the 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology, gave a presentation titled "Evaluation of Meteorological Data in the Lakes Region." Subsequently, Dr. Tuncay Vural, a veterinarian from the Isparta Fisheries Research Institute, drew attention with his presentation on water and gender titled "A Message from the Laborers of Water."

The panel concluded with poster presentations prepared by the students.
